Katerina Barton was born in post-communist Czechoslovakia and grew up between New Mexico and Texas — part of a family of journalists. She fell in love with audio while at J-school at NYU and started her first public radio job at WNYC's The Takeaway, since producing for On the Media and StoryCorps Studios. She pitched us on a story about climate change in Indonesia, fourth-most-populated country in the world and home to some of the Earth’s most biodiverse ecosystems.
